A classic hex and counter wargame reenacting the 1940 campaign in the West - the renowned Fall of France, Belgium, and Holland.
The game offers an extensive experience, featuring over 300 units predominantly comprised of divisions representing various nations including Germany, Holland, Belgium, Britain, France, and even Poland. The array of units includes infantry, fortresses, tanks (Panzers), parachutists, and more.
For the French player - whether human or AI-controlled - there are four strategic options available (in addition to a random choice):
- Dyle Plan: The default historical option where allied armies position strategically to counter the anticipated German offensive by advancing through Belgium.
- Escaut Plan: Similar to the Dyle plan but with a more cautious and limited approach into Belgium. Is fine-tuned specifically for AI players.
- No B.E.F.: A hypothetical scenario where Britain remains neutral.
- Reserves: Redirects the French 7th army to a strategic reserve role near Paris instead of the extreme left of the Allied line.
For the German player, there are five distinct options provided (along with a random choice), catering to both human and AI players:
- Manstein Plan: The default and historic sickle cut through the Ardennes.
- Hadler Plan: A variant on the Schlieffen plan designed for a broad front offensive in Belgium and Holland.
- Belgium Plan: Focused on a concentrated advance through Belgium to confront the Dyle plan head-on.
- Compromise: Hitler’s proposed plan involving a secondary thrust through the Ardennes alongside the primary effort in Belgium.
- Strasburg Hypothetical Plan: Showcases Panzergruppe Kleist supported by the reinforced 7th Army attacking south of Strasburg through the Maginot line.
